Carson City Linux Users Group

Please join the group to network with other GNU/Linux Users in the area. Membership is free as in beer, so there's no reason not to join. You'll get benefits like installation help, and just help in general. I may not know the answer but google knows everything, so finding an answer shouldn't be too difficult. And there's always the GNU/Linux forums where you can ask detailed questions, and usually get a fairly prompt reply.

Finally, an answer to the age old question, which is the best GNU/Linux distribution? DistroWatch.com has links to the most popular GNU/Linux Distributions. The top 20 reasons you should use GNU/Linux. The best way to choose a distribution is to download several distributions and try them via live dvd or usb. That way you can test your hardware for compatability with the distribution and try the desktop environment to see if it appeals to you. Choosing a distribution is a very personal thing.

Good reading material for recent and potential GNU/Linux converts. What-is-Linux? and Linux is not Windows.

LinuxQuestions.org is a popular GNU/Linux forum, Linux.org another popular GNU/Linux forum, as well as the Debian.net forum.
