Plucky Puffin (Ubuntu 25.04) - brew - 04-18-2025 Not usually a fan of interim releases, and Plucky Puffin may be the worst Ubuntu distro release name yet, BUT...it does include the "latest" kernel, 6.14; a new Gnome release, 48; a simplified installer, which might be a plus for new Linux users; and claims to have enhanced networking and management improvements. I may install it to check out something called a a Wellbeing Panel, that purports to monitor screen time and usage habits. Seems like it might be handy for kids, and us geezers that tend to fall asleep at the keyboard :-) Since I only mentioned things that caught my eye, and somebody else may notice something I missed, the full announcement is here: https://canonical.com/blog/canonical-releases-ubuntu-25-04-plucky-puffin I will report back if I find anything worth mentioning. |
