Not usually a fan of interim releases, and Plucky Puffin may be the worst Ubuntu distro release name yet, BUT...it does include the "latest" kernel, 6.14; a new Gnome release, 48; a simplified installer, which might be a plus for new Linux users; and claims to have enhanced networking and management improvements.
I may install it to check out something called a a Wellbeing Panel, that purports to monitor screen time and usage habits.
Seems like it might be handy for kids, and us geezers that tend to fall asleep at the keyboard :-)
Since I only mentioned things that caught my eye, and somebody else may notice something I missed, the full announcement is here:
